On 24 October 2025 (12:00–15:00 CEST), EPALE and the Nordic Network for Lifelong Learning (NLL) — a member of EBSN — will host the annual Læring i Nord digital conference, focusing on basic skills in the Nordic countries.
This year’s edition will explore how to strengthen adults’ literacy, numeracy, digital and oral skills, drawing on new data from PIAAC2. Policymakers, practitioners, and researchers from across the Nordic region will come together to address key questions:
- What role do basic skills play in ensuring social participation and equality?
- How can we reach and support adults with the lowest skill levels?
- What can we learn from Nordic cooperation that may inspire other parts of Europe?
The programme will feature discussions on current findings, policy priorities and practical approaches, highlighting how investing in basic skills can reduce inequalities and promote inclusion in a digital society. The event aims to create an inclusive space for knowledge exchange and collaboration among education providers, researchers and policymakers.
Participation is free of charge and open to all interested stakeholders.
