The Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe (EPALE) aims to become the main reference point for adult learning professionals in Europe. The European Commission has repeatedly expressed its appreciation of the fact that EBSN is one of the partners in the EPALE team, committed to making the portal into a key source of information as well as the main online meeting point for professionals from the broader Europe, especially in the fields of basic skills/life skills.
EPALE became operational throughout late 2014 and the site now offers a pan-European Calendar of events, a Newsroom, a Resource Centre and five Thematic Pages (including life skills). EPALE is still developing, but it has already matured enough to be formally announced as a functioning portal. It now calls for more active involvement of professionals at all levels, to further develop the site by interacting with a growing Community of Users.
The EPALE Launch Conference will announce the official start of the portal in Brussels on 15 April and will welcome more than 250 policy makers, experts and practitioners from national and European institutions and organizations.
We are proud to inform the EBSN Community that EBSN Chair Graciela Sbertoli has been invited as keynote speaker next to such distinguished speakers as Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Michel Servoz, European Commission, Director-General: Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion and Alan Tuckett OBE, President of the International Council for Adult Education.
There will be an exhibition too, showcasing the work of EBSN as well as that of each EPALE National Support Service.
