EBSN Annual Conference and General Assembly 2026 to take place in Lisbon

The EBSN Annual Conference and General Assembly 2026 will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 17 to 19 June 2026, bringing together policymakers, researchers, practitioners and organisations working in the field of adult basic skills, lifelong learning and inclusion.

This year’s conference theme is “Basic Skills for Life, Work and Democratic Participation in Times of Transformation”. The programme will explore how adult basic skills can support participation in society, access to learning and work, digital inclusion, democratic resilience and stronger lifelong learning systems.

The annual event will begin on Wednesday, 17 June, with a pre-conference programme and visit to a Portuguese Qualifica Centre, offering participants direct insight into adult learning, guidance and qualification pathways in Portugal. Later the same day, the EBSN General Assembly will take place, providing members with the opportunity to review the network’s activities during the past year, discuss strategic and organisational developments, approve key documents and contribute to the future direction of EBSN.

The main conference programme on 18 and 19 June will include Portuguese and European perspectives, keynote contributions, panel discussions, parallel sessions, a Marketplace and opportunities for professional exchange among EBSN members and wider stakeholders.
