Implementation of the European Agenda for Adult Learning

LLP

The Council Resolution on a European Agenda for Adult Learning, adopted by the Education Council on 28 November 2011, concentrates on increasing participation among the low qualified and disadvantaged adults, with a focus on developing their basic skills.

The Agenda encourages the LLP participating countries to take concrete steps to enhance, intensify and coordinate policies to provide adult learning, in particular offering lower qualified adults a “second chance” to go “one step up” in their qualification level.

To facilitate liaison and effective implementation of the Agenda, the Lifelong Learning Programme Committee approved the allocation of a budget of 6 million EUR for a restricted call for proposals to support the activities of the national coordinators during the period 2012-2014.

Seven EBSN members, that are also National Coordinators, had their application approved and have initated their national projects to implement the European Agenda for Adult Learning.
