Our office supports adult learning programs in the Canton of Berne that empower participants to be independent, to take responsibility and to integrate into the labor market and the society.
The most relevant focus is on basic skills (reading and writing, everyday maths, basic digital competence). We have contracts with adult learning providers and promote their quality development.
We initiate and support innovative projects with financial contributions, advice and networking.
Our partners are providers, specialist agencies, cantonal authorities, municipalities and the federal government.
Our office participates at the national project “Literalität in Alltag und Beruf” (Literacy in every day life and at work) founded by the Swiss Government.
This project aims at developing and installing new effective training methods for basic skills (reading and writing, everyday maths, basic digital competence).
Our office is a member of the intercantonal conference of adult learning. The conference aims at supporting lifelong learning in Switzerland by raising awareness, networking and encouraging the exchange of experience. It is composed of the responsible representatives for adult learning from the 26 Swiss Cantons.
